Quality Control
In addition to being subject of local, state and federal food safety inspections, Action Ice is a member of The IPIA, (The International Packaged Ice Association.)
Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards (PIQCS). PIQCS is a mandatory code of standards adhered to by members for producing packaged ice and is based on both federal Good Manufacturing Practices customized for packaged ice and the IPIA’s Sanitary Standards for Packaged Ice.
As a PIQCS Plus Certified member of The IPIA We must adhere to strict processing guidelines outlined in their PIQCS Plan (Packaged Ice Quality Control Standards). Every IPIA member is subject to annual inspections Look for the IPIA logo on all of our branded packaging.
Plant Tours and Inspection
We invite any of our perspective or existing accounts to a tour of our facilities. As many “ice companies” are rogue suppliers and not registered or inspected by the federal authorities, you should not do business with an ice company that will not allow you to openly tour their production facility.
