Delivery of packaged ice by preparing, loading, operating, and cleaning a truck; assisting in warehouse, dock and other general duties; developing sales; maintaining records.
*Prepares truck for operation by inspecting and reporting general condition; checking and reporting fluid levels and tire pressure; validating adherence to D.O.T. standards. *Loads truck by organizing, placing, and securing items. *Delivers items by identifying destinations; following route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining on time deliveries. *Unsurpassed professional customer service through understanding, resolving, and forwarding issues to the customers' satisfaction. *Obtains payments by accepting cash and checks. *Prepares and deposits daily funds. *Maintains truck operating efficiency by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; reporting needed repairs. *Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organizational operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior. *Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining signed receipts for all transactions; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms. *Updates job knowledge by participation in training opportunities. *Enhances organizational reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job objectives. *Other duties include but are not limited to: assisting in production department as needed; operation of forklift and pallet jack; organizing freezer, yard and warehouse; delivering trucks and trailers to special events.
